Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Centre County and partner organizations team up to create a day of family fun activities, exhibits, and presentations as we celebrate butterflies, bees, and all of our beneficial pollinators. Where would we be without ‘em?

Pollinator Parade

The event begins with our Pollinator Parade! Come dressed as your favorite pollinator.  During its inaugural year, the pollinator parade featured butterflies, bees, birds, and even a grasshopper and gravity! Show off your creative spirit at this year's parade. Begins at 10AM at the upper parking area.

The Great Scavenger hunt

Let your passport be your guide through the fascinating world of Pennsylvania's very own native butterflies, bees, and birds.
Collect stamps at action stations around the Snetsinger Butterfly Garden and redeem for a prize.
In your journey "around the world" of Wings in the Park you'll discover the magic of pollinators.


PLANT THE HABITAT

Visitors to Wings in the Park will have the opportunity to plant one of three pollinator-friendly native plant species in the butterfly habitat.  Join team SBG and help the garden grow!

Have your photo taken in our shutterbug booth as a colorful critter.

Shaver's Creek  Raptor Program!

Shaver's Creek brings their Eastern Screech Owl to talk about the relationships that birds have with caterpillars, moths, and butterflies.

Programs at 11am and 1:00pm

Caterpillar cookies and butterfly life cycle

Decorate delicious caterpillar cookies and learn about the butterfly life-cycle.

Free native plants

Visitors will receive a native plant to start their own habitat at home! Limit one per family, while supplies last.
