Pollinator friendly demonstration garden
The Pollinator Friendly Demonstration Garden is the crown jewel of the SBG habitat. Its 40 plus species of perennials, more than half of which are native to Pennsylvania, as well as many annuals and butterfly host plants - were all chosen for specific attributes which are beneficial to bees, butterflies, birds and other pollinators.
This demonstration garden is maintained by Penn State Extension Master Gardeners. This teaching garden provides information on pollinator-friendly practices and gives the public ideas on how to create a pollinator-friendly habitat in their own backyards. With pollinators in decline, we can help protect them by planting pollinator friendly plants, providing nesting habitat and a pesticide free environment. |
