Satyrium calanus
Identification: Wingspan 1 - 1 1/2 inches. Hindwing has 1 long and 1 short tail. Upper side of wings are brown. Bottom of wings have 2-3 bands of oval shaped spots. By the tails, there are orange dots and a blue dot (no orange on the blue dot).
Habitat: Forest areas and neighboring edges or open fields.
Garden Habit: Males perch low on shrubs or trees.
Host Plants: Many tree species of oak, walnut and hickory.
